Soccer roundup: Arlington boys clinch league | USA Today High School Sports

The Arlington High School boys soccer team clinched the Section 1 Conference 1 League A title Monday with a 3-0 win over visiting Carmel.

Vinny Colantuono scored two goals, while George Pogyo added the third. Colantuono added an assist, as did Travis Cartica. Goalkeepers Ryan Wilson and Andrew Kramer made no saves, as Arlington finished the season 15-1.

“I think we’re still at a point where we haven’t played our best soccer,” Arlington coach Craig Sanborn said. “But to win the league is always nice. It’s the first goal that we established, and to be able to accomplish our first goal is always rewarding.”

Arlington now awaits Section 1 seeding.

Ketcham 2, John Jay Cross River 1 / OT — David Siriboe scored twice to lead the visiting Indians.

Eddie May and Nick Botcheller each recorded an assist.

Ketcham concluded the regular season 11-5.

John Jay finished the regular season 10-4-2.

The Section 1 seeding meeting is Tuesday.
