KHSAA sanctions Lincoln County | USA Today High School Sports

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has sanctioned the Lincoln County football program for its participation in a preseason camp the weekend of Aug. 7.

During an internal review, Lincoln County found its football program committed violations by scrimmaging an opponent longer than three hours or scrimmaging multiple opponents, failing to provide required rest following a full-gear practice, exceeding time limits for contact and exceeding the daily time limit for practice.

The KHSAA fined Lincoln County $2,500, suspended head coach Travis Leffew for one game and placed the program on probation through the 2016-17 school year. Leffew is scheduled to serve his suspension during Friday’s game against Rockcastle County.
