KARACHI: SSGC’s Adnan Ghaus and Mohammad Amir took some quick wickets to restrict Lahore Blues to 70-6 on the third day of the first round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.
Batting in their second innings, Lahore Blues added 76 runs on the third day to take their lead to 115 runs after SSGC ended their first innings on 256 as Asif Zakir hit an unbeaten 105. Ghaus claimed three scalps, while Amir took two wickets.
In the match at the Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad, Port Qasim resumed their first innings on 185-5 against home-side Hyderabad and added 197 runs to take their total to 382 with the help of Muhammad Salman’s 88-run knock. At the end of play, Hyderabad were on 61-3 with a lead of 81 runs in their second innings.

At the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar, Naeemudin scored 162 runs along with Imran Butt’s 124 to take SNGPL’s first innings total to 369-2 against hosts Peshawar. At the end of play, SNGPL’s Umar Akmal (45) and Abu Bakar Khan (21) were on the crease with a lead of 138 runs.
Meanwhile, UBL posted 399 runs in their first innings against Islamabad, who at the end of play were batting on 88-6, trailing by 311 runs.
In the Pool A matches, Wapda were batting on 194-3 in their first innings, trailing by 289 runs to Karachi Whites, while Lahore Whites were batting on 145-3 in their second innings and trailed NBP by 85 runs.
Quaid-e-Azam Trophy: Hyderabad on top after Ghumman century
At the Pindi Stadium, KRL were batting on 198-8 in their first innings, trailing by 30 runs to Rawalpindi while at the Jinnah Stadium, Fata were on 255-5 with Rehan Afridi (102) on the crease and trailing by 149 runs to HBL.
