The Poudre High School volleyball team pushed its winning streak to three matches Monday when the Impalas swept Niwot, 27-25, 25-18, 25-21.
Jacey Janiki and Sarah Mcfarland led Poudre with 10 kills apiece. Senior setter Olivia Seng had 32 assists.
The victory for the Impalas (13-9) guarantees it has a winning record this fall after going 6-17 a year ago. Poudre wraps up the regular season Tuesday at crosstown rival Fort Collins.
Nominate an athlete
We’re inviting you to nominate someone from your school for Coloradoan athlete of the week. We’ll name a male and female athlete each week based on their achievements in that week’s sporting events. Nominate someone here: Coloradoan.com/athleteofweek. Then check back with us at Coloradoan.com/sports/high-school-sports every Monday to find out who got the honor. It’s all part of our yearlong effort to honor high school athletes. At the end of each sports season, we’ll name all-area teams for every varsity sport and invite them to hear Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning speak right here in Northern Colorado in May.
