Lyndell “Mack” Wilson has had the same dream for as long as he can remember – to play professional football. The outside linebacker for Carver Montgomery High School is well on his way to achieving his dream, with invitations to play for multiple colleges. But that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten the journey that led to this point.
“I’M MOST THANKFUL FOR MY GOD-GIVEN TALENT, MY ABILITY TO BE ABLE TO WALK ON MY TWO FEET, AND JUST TO BE ABLE TO PLAY THE GAME THAT I LOVE.”

A DREAM FOR LIFE
It’s been a dream almost 15 years in the making.
As a hyperactive kid, Lyndell “Mack” Wilson begged his mother to enroll him in sports: basketball, football, baseball – it didn’t matter. But it wasn’t long before he realized that football was his true calling. He was the type of kid that grew up more quickly than his peers, leading him to excel at playing many different positions, and helping him learn the game from many different perspectives.
Fast forward to today and Mack can barely remember a time when he wasn’t pursuing his dream of playing professional football.
In fact, it’s this sense of dedication that sets him apart as a dreamer.
The outside linebacker for Carver Montgomery has been named a five-star prospect and has multiple offers lined up to play for some of the nation’s top football programs. And while he’s well on his way to making that dream a reality, he hasn’t forgotten the people that support him day in and day out.
“He’s a very humble person,” says Mack’s mom, Sandra. “He takes time to talk with people, and leads by example.”
He’s not just focused on pursuing his own dreams – but helping his teammates pursue theirs too. Mack’s Coach Bill Gresham, explains.
“He’s the big dog on campus and [his fellow athletes] really look up to him, so he takes advantage of opportunities to make sure they understand how to be successful – and how to carry their success when they achieve it.”
Besides embracing his lifelong habits of humility and teamwork, Mack attributes his successes to the positive forces in his life – beloved coaches, teammates and family members.
“It’s important to surround myself with people who believe in me. By believing in me, they trust me and where I’m headed,” says Mack.
Mack’s support system has helped him keep his other dreams thriving, too. An aspiring photographer and artist, he hopes to expand his love for shooting and editing photos and videos in college.
“He loves snapping pictures,” Sandra says. “He takes his education very seriously.”
So whether he’s looking through the camera lens or working towards a professional linebacker jersey, Mack’s journey towards his dreams is one we can all find inspiration in.
