In what has become a common theme, Friday was another night of blowouts in Northern Nevada football.
Reed improved to 9-0 overall and clinched the High Desert League title with a 63-28 demolition of McQueen. In the Sierra League, both Damonte Ranch and Galena scored huge wins to clinch playoff spots.
Spanish Springs was a 34-0 winner over Hug, a key win for the Cougars that also clinched a place in the Division I North playoffs.
In Division I-A, Fallon beat Fernley, 33-6, in a matchup of two of the league’s top teams. The Greenwave will finish as the Northern Region’s top seed for the playoffs.
South Tahoe put up 63 points against Sparks, and Elko was a 49-0 shutout winner over Dayton. Truckee beat Wooster, 31-20, in one of the evening’s rare close games.
In Division III, Yerington kept its long winning streak going with a 42-14 win over Pershing County.
The Division I playoffs are set, outside of final seeds. In the High Desert League, Reed, McQueen, Reno and Spanish Springs will advance to the postseason. In the Sierra League, Carson, Galena, Damonte Ranch, and Douglas will move on to the Northern Region playoffs.
