Whoa. Jack McNally can really get up.
That’s McNally pulling off one of the interceptions of the year in the video you see above. The junior is a two-way starter for Menlo in California, and during the team’s recent nailbiter against Half Moon Bay, McNally read a Half Moon designed play perfectly, then elevated for an absolutely remarkable one-handed pick. It’s incredible.
He returned the pick about halfway to pay dirt before being calf-roped when he cut back into the middle of the field. If he had made it, that might have made the difference. Unfortunately, it didn’t, with Half Moon Bay holding on for a 22-19 victory.
It’s the defensive play of the year in California, if not nationwide. We’ll have to see how it holds up come season end, but it should certainly be in consideration.
