McQueen’s Alice Duan fired a 70 on Thursday, to go with her 78 on Wednesday, and finished in third place at the NIAA Division I state girls golf tournament at Primm Valley Resort in Nipton, Calif., near Las Vegas.
Coronado took the team title with a 623. Bishop Gorman was second at 637; Palo Verde was third at 660. Spanish Springs finished fourth at 716 and McQueen was fifth with a 721.
Annick Haczkiewicz of Palo Verde was the medalist with rounds of 74-69 for a 143. Hunter Pate from Bishop Gorman was second at 147, followed by Duan at148.
Also from Northern Nevada, Jax Sohl from Bishop Manogue shot 151 over two rounds to finish in fifth place; Jada McAlister from Spanish Springs was tied for eighth with a 158 and Emma Gilmore, also from Spanish Springs was 13th with a 162. Lauren Hickam from Douglas tied for 14th with a 163 and Hanna Ludwig from Wooster tied for 19th with a 168.
In the Division I-A tournament at Boulder Creek Golf Club’s Eldorado to Desert Hawk, , Faith Lutheran won the team title with a 629. Clark was second with a 766 and Lowry took third at 773. Elko was fourth at 827.
Sydney Smith of Faith Lutheran won with a two-round total of 146, followed by Lani Potter of Boulder City with a 149.
Brittany Evans from Fernley was the North’s top finisher with a 155 for fifth place.
Mikal Jerman from Spring Creek was eighth with a 168 and Tatyana Carlson from Lowry was 10th with a 172.
