Calhoun Christian volleyball

Frodge was all over the court in helping Calhoun Christian keep its perfect league record intact this week. The junior outside hitter compiled a match-high 16 kills to go with six aces in a sweep of Lansing New Covenant Christian, and followed that effort up with a match-high 14 kills with 18 digs and five aces in a four-set victory over rival Marshall Academy – helping the Cougars improve to 10-0 in the Mid-South Conference.

Coldwater football

Coldwater clinched its first outright league title since 1986 in a 30-7 Interstate Eight Conference victory over Charlotte, with Burns yet again providing the bulk of the scoring for the unbeaten and Division 3 sixth-ranked Cardinals (8-0) with three touchdowns on the night. The senior running back finished with 11 carries for 126 yards, including touchdown runs of 2, 77 and 28 yards. He leads the team with 13 rushing touchdowns to go with two receiving scores on the season.


Marshall volleyball

The Redhawks are building some momentum heading into their huge Interstate Eight Conference matchup with rival and Class B fourth-ranked Harper Creek on Oct. 28. Marshall, which is honorable mention in Class B, swept Charlotte as part of ‘Dig Pink’ and ‘Senior Night,’ and followed up with a title at the Perry Invitational where the Redhawks went 5-0.
