Much has been made of Friday’s postgame fight between Detroit King and Detroit Cody that almost got King barred from the Division I PSL football championship game.
(The decision was reversed Tuesday, meaning King will play Cass Tech on Friday at Ford Field, after all.)
Well, clickondetroit.com obtained video of the fight, so you can judge for yourself who was at fault: King, Cody or both.
Although King (8-0) will be permitted to play in the title game, not all of its players may be available. “We are identifying the aggressors from both teams who initiated the fight,” DPS emergency manager Darnell Earley said in a released statement. “The King players will be suspended from play in Friday’s championship game, and Cody players will be prohibited from playing the first game of the 2016-17 school year.”
The final game of Cody’s season this week has been canceled, and the entire coaching staff was placed on indefinite suspension.
