Volleyball: Brewster raises $1,000 in Volley for a Cure | USA Today High School Sports

Brewster earned a win over Horace Greeley on Tuesday, but more importantly, it earned over $1,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness during its “Volley for a Cure” match.

Frannie Merkel and Dayja Medina paced the Bears’ scoring with 11 and eight kills, respectively. Grace Coughlin added five aces and 10 assists. Kelly Dovi chipped in 16 assists.

Pawling 3, Putnam Valley 0: Jaclyn Smith had 15 kills in a 25-16, 25-13, 25-13 win. Clara Lombardo added five aces and 16 assists. Laura Kuhlmann chipped in six kills.

Sleepy Hollow 3, Hastings 1: Louisa Kuofer had 14 aces and six kills in a 25-22, 15-25, 25-13, 25-14 win over the Yellow Jackets.

Kennedy 3, Sacred Heart 0: Caroline Tompkins had six kills and 13 assists in a 25-16, 25-14, 25-9 win. Danni Kralik and Tara Cooney added eight and six kills, respectively. Fran DelMonte chipped in eight assists.

Peekskill 3, North Salem 1: Essence Boyd had four aces and 19 assists in a 25-18, 25-16, 11-25, 25-13 win over the Tigers. Ryanne Taylor added three aces and five kills. Kiara Adams added five aces and 11 kills.

Panas 3, Ossining 0: Shauna O’Flaherty had seven kills and eight digs in a 25-14, 25-19, 25-19 win. Taylor Kammerman added three aces and six digs.

Holy Child 3, Green Farms Academy 0: Victoria Hanley had five aces and seven digs in a 25-13, 25-18, 25-13. Annemarie Altomare added five aces and six kills. Veronica Rizutto added four aces and 12 assists.

Rye 3, Scarsdale B 0: Jaime Donnelly had nine kills and nine digs. Katherine Coleman had five kills and four blocks.

Hen Hud 3, Lourdes 0: Gillian Stieglitz and Zoe Staats each had 11 kills in a 25-15, 25-10, 25-13. Lindsay Pelaccio added 33 assists.

Ardsley 3, Dobbs Ferry 0: Nicolina Chenard had 22 kills, 11 aces and 16 digs in a 27-25, 25-18, 25-16 win over the Eagles. Dobbs Ferry junior Alexis Demitrovic was honored for achieving 500 kills, 500 digs and 1,000 assists for her career.

Maria Regina 3, SCA 0: Emily Costa had seven kills in a 25-17, 25-11, 25-14 win. Kaitlin Carey, Madison Altieri and Julie Greco each added four kills.
