Aizaz says Pakistan has every right to have nuclear weapons in the face of India’s Cold Start doctrine
As prime minister leaves for an official visit to the United States, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry has said Pakistan would not accept any restriction or compromise on its nuclear capability, Radio Pakistan reported.
In an interview to the state television, the foreign secretary said Pakistan’s nuclear programme was based on the objective of minimum deterrence, aimed to prevent Indian aggression.

Talking about Afghanistan, the foreign secretary said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would reiterate in the US that use of force would be of no solution to Afghan crisis.

Sustainable peace can return to Afghanistan only through reconciliation between all stakeholders of the country, he said, adding Pakistan had facilitated the reconciliation process and is willing to continue to do so.
