Cameron Young was not waiting patiently to make a splash at Wake Forest.
The freshman tied for medalist honors over the weekend, finishing with a 6-under total of 210 and helping the Demon Deacons share the U.S. Collegiate Championship at the Golf Club of Georgia with top-ranked Auburn.
Wake Forest has won three times already and closes the fall season Nov. 2-4 in Hawaii at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational.
Young went 68-69-73 to match the score posted by Auburn’s Will Long, Stanford’s Maverick McNealey and Virginia’s Derek Bard. The Scarborough resident and Fordham Prep grad finished T19 at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational at Pumpkin Ridge earlier this month and T18 at the Rod Meyers Invitational at Duke last month.
