LAHORE: All field officers of the Wildlife Department have been directed to check illegal hunting in their areas, Wildlife Director General Khalid Ayaz said at a meeting on Monday. He said strict orders had been issued for all field officers to maintain wildlife parks in their areas in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SoPs). He said indiscriminate action would be taken against those caught shirking work. He said he would soon tour all wildlife parks in the province to personally monitor arrangements made for birds and animals found there. Ayaz said the department had asked field officers to submit their proposals on ways to further improve conditions at the parks so that more tourists could be attracted to the sites. He said the proposals would be implemented in view of the availability of funds.
