PESHAWAR: Saleh Muhammad, one of the pilgrims who went missing in the Mina tragedy on September 24, has been confirmed to be martyred in the incident. The family was informed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Sunday that the victim was buried in Makkah. The family was informed that Muhammad was in a coma at a local hospital, however, he did not recover. According to Taimur Khan, a nephew of the deceased, “We were told he was identified through DNA test and fingerprints, and was buried by Saudi authorities in Makkah.” A resident of Hazar Khwani, Muhammad was a 61-year-old retired Pakistan Railways policeman. He went to perform Hajj earlier this year, but was trapped in the stampede. His wife, Yasmin Bibi, who also accompanied him returned home safely on October 1.
