There are remarkable runs that elude tackles, and then there is the scoring play from Quintein Anderson.
Anderson, a star back from Sumter, S.C., scored one of the most heads-up touchdowns of the season during his squad’s 42-7 rout of West Florence, as depicted in detail here by our TEGNA partner WLTX. Despite being wrapped after a short gain in the red zone, Anderson refused to go down, instead flipping forward in a somersault move and landing on his feet, taking off for the end zone without being dragged down.
It was nothing short of amazing. It showcased Anderson’s quick wit, determination and athleticism in equal measure. In short, it was a superstar play, made by a superstar.
Anderson is a senior and has yet to receive significant recruiting attention from a major Division I program. We’ll have to see if that is still true in a matter of weeks once his most recent star turn continues to reach new circles.
