Pisgah-Tuscola beat out 11 other nationwide games in an online vote to determine the Great American Rivalry Series’ rivalry of the week.
Haywood County voters made their voices heard, giving the Pisgah-Tuscola game 40,740 votes (38.8 percent) compared to 36,221 (34.6 percent) for Warner Robins (Ga.) and Northside (Ga.).
The Black Bears won for the third consecutive year on Friday (20-17 in overtime and in Waynesville). It was the 52nd overall meeting between the two programs. Tuscola leads the all-time series, 26-25-1.
