Post-Taunsa attack: Several suspects held

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Police on Thursday rounded up a number of suspects belonging to proscribed outfits a day after the Taunsa camp office of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmaker Sardar Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa was hit by a suspected suicide attack.

On the directions of the inspector general of police in Punjab, the district officer of the counter-terrorism department Multan formed a joint investigation team that is investigating the case.

District Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Maiken said that a search operation is under way and all the exit and entry points are being strictly monitored

According to him, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The initial report has been sent to the Punjab government for verification.

“Sardar Farooq is also a member of the district bar and this attack in fact is an attack on the bar, which is condemnable,” Dera Ghazi Khan district bar president Salim Raza Khan Kakar said.
