Over the past three seasons, the Chartiers Valley Football team was seen as a laughing stock. They consistently had no more than two wins per season in the span of 2012-2014. From the 2013-2014 season, the Colts were only able to achieve one win. If we are honest here, that is embarrassing. The following year they were able to improve slightly by producing a two win season. They may have improved but their record was still pretty embarrassing. Due to these poor performing seasons, the Colts really were not much of a challenge in the eyes of other schools. Then came the year of 2015, a year of hope and a chance for greatness. The Colts have the opportunity to clinch a playoff berth which last happened in the 2012 season. Coming off a 45-26 victory against the Moon Tigers on October 10, the Colts were able to improve their record to 4-2 making them one section win away from a playoff berth.
When asked about his thoughts on the continued success of the season, senior quarterback Jake Collins responded, “It is truly an exciting time to be a Colt. We come to practice every day ready to work and get better so that we can achieve our goal of making the playoffs and making as far as a run as we can.”
The Colts have three games left in the season and need one win to secure a playoff berth. They are on the road tomorrow for a 7:00 p.m. start against the Central Valley Bears. Make sure to come out and support your Colts!
