Reynolds volleyball players had three weeks to stew over their only Mountain Athletic Conference loss.
The Rockets unleashed all that pent-up frustration Wednesday night in Skyland.
Towson (Md.) recruit Emily Russell amassed 24 kills, 13 digs and five blocks in a 3-0 win at Roberson (29-27, 25-23 and 25-20).
South Carolina recruit Courtney Koehler added 30 assists, 17 digs and four kills in a match that clinched at least a share of the Mountain Athletic Conference 3-A and outright championships for Reynolds (17-2, 10-1). The Rockets conclude their regular season Tuesday at North Buncombe and hold the tiebreaker for the No. 1 state playoff seed if it comes to that by virtue of their head-to-head meetings with Enka (Reynolds won both).
Other individual leaders on Wednesday were Kendra Rice (six kills) and Melissa Cavagnini (14 digs).
Roberson beat Reynolds earlier this season (3-1 on Sept. 22).
The Rams (17-3, 9-2) got their biggest individual contributions Wednesday from Abby Krueger (11 kills, 13 digs, one ace), Gracie Thayer (nine kills), Makenzie Walker (17 digs, six kills and one block) and Camryn Jansen (15 digs).
