Here are our five American Family Insurance ALL-USA Ozarks Performers of the Week for the week of Oct. 5-10:
Stout scored six touchdowns in Kickapoo’s 49-21 win at Lebanon Friday night. The senior running back had 18 carries for 156 yards and three touchdowns. He caught two touchdown passes for a total of 49 yards and, for good measure, returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown. Stout has now rushed for 860 yards on the season.
Cheffey had a monster day at the Ozark Grand Slam tournament Saturday. The Missouri State commit propelled Nixa through pool play and to 8-team bracket play wins over Kirkwood and Glendale. Nixa finished 4-1-1 on the day with a 25-23, 26-24 loss to Fayetteville, Arkansas in the championship final. The Thursday before, Cheffey had four kills in a straight sets win over Carthage.
Reeds Spring football
Haddock led Reeds Spring’s ground game in a 35-24 home win over Central. The senior quarterback tallied 35 rushing attempts, 222 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Haddock added a 20-yard touchdown pass to Adam Taylor to help Reeds Spring improve to 8-0 headed into the final week of the 2015 regular season.
The speedy junior came through when Nixa needed him most. Crawford scored the game-winning goal in Nixa’s 3-2 home win over Glendale Thursday night. The goal came with five minutes remaining in regulation and broke a 2-2 tie that would have sent the Eagles into overtime with Glendale. Nixa improved to 17-1 with the win.
Pinkly had a monstrous defensive outing in a three-set win over the Miller Cardinals Thursday night. Pinkly picked up 29 digs in the Wildcats’ 18-25, 25-22, 25-22 win over Miller. The big defensive performance allowed Verona to improve to .500 on the season at 14-14-2.
