Contend that the new meters could have a role to play in the high electricity bill
Member of the standing committee on Water and Power have raised questions over the newly-acquired meters that run when sunlight falls on them, even if there is no electricity.
Speaking at a meeting at Wapda House Peshawar on Tuesday, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) MNA Molana Gohar Shah complained about hefty electricity bills despite prolonged load-shedding in the region. He added the new meters could have a role to play in the high electricity bills. The digital meters start running when sunlight falls on them, said Shah. “The meters work even when there is no electricity.”
