At least 282 police stations and posts in the province will be revamped into modern facilities
At least 282 police stations and posts in the province will be revamped into modern facilities along the lines established in Peshawar and other cities.
This was stated by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at a meeting held at CM’s Secretartiat on Tuesday. As officials from the police department were also present at the meeting, Khattak issued directives to the department to establish its own traffic engineering department and asked the relevant authorities to prepare a blueprint to renovate the stations.
At the meeting Khattak, also constituted a four-member committee to examine legal implications of the amendments in the police act suggested by the Cabinet Subcommittee and the police department.
The CM also emphasized on the need to devise a foolproof and independent system to deal with the matters related to civil servants such as postings, transfers and appraisals.
The committee will be headed by Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan who will suggest amendments in the civil servants act. Khattak formed the committee as he believes powers of the chief executive of the province and the cabinet members over postings and transfers needed to be devolved to the Chief Secretary or administrative heads of provincial government departments.
