In the best-of-11 frames semi-finals, Sajjad beat Abu Saim 6-3 and Asif thrashed Muhammad Bilal 6-0.
Asif had no trouble whatsoever as he won by a scoreline of 88-49 (75), 84-19, 104-0, 95-16, 84-39, 74-22.
However, Sajjad was made to work for his victory despite dominating the proceedings for most of the match. Leading 5-0 initially, he faltered and recovered only after conceding three frames on the trot.
The scoreline changed from 5-0 to 5-3, but Sajjad ensured that he walked out a winner with his World Championship berth at stake, eventually winning 66-38, 90-31 (67), 87-08 (60), 91-13, 75-16, 50-74, 44-52, 48-52, 61-44.
“I’m looking forward to an exciting final with Asif because it can’t get any better than playing against your best friend and closest rival,” Sajjad told The Express Tribune.
