Osiris St. Brown is the latest in a family of uniquely-named, phenomenally-talented football players. While his brother Equanimeous St. Brown starred for Anaheim Servite, Osiris is the standout wide receiver for Mater Dei. And he can really pull in the big plays, as evidenced by the highlight you see in the reel above.
More specifically, at the 0:19 mark of the highlight reel above, taken from Mater Dei’s victory against Orange Lutheran, St. Brown goes out and somehow pulls in a ball that was thrown not just behind him, but behind his defender’s back. No matter, St. Brown just extended around the defensive back, juggled the ball to keep it alive and then brought in the catch en route to the end zone.
As it turns out, the touchdown was a big one for Mater Dei, which used a second half push to roll to a 49-35 victory. Of course, given the skill that was required to make the catch, it would have been a big touchdown regardless of the scoreline. That was some catch.
