Three of four Fort Collins high school softball teams made the postseason, but all will have to play on the road.
Double-elimination regional tournaments are Saturday with the top two in each four-team region making next week’s state tournament.
Fossil Ridge (12-6-1), the runner-up in Class 5A last season, is the No. 17 seed and will face No. 16 Douglas County (14-5) in the first game of Region 1. No. 1 Grandview (16-3) is the host and opens with No. 32 Northglenn (11-7).
Fort Collins (13-6) is the No. 12 seed and will face No. 21 Denver East (15-4) to open Region 3. No. 5 Legend (17-2) is the host and opens with No. 28 Legacy (9-9-1).
Rocky Mountain (14-5) is the No. 11 seed and will face No. 22 Pine Creek (12-7) to open Region 6. Defending 5A state champion Grandview (13-6) is the host and No. 6 seed and opens with No. 27 Dakota Ridge (11-8).
In 4A, Windsor (11-8) is the No. 11 seed and opens Region 6 against Delta (15-4). No. 6 Pueblo West (14-4-1) is the host and opens with No. 27 Elizabeth (16-3).
The first game of each region is at 10 a.m., the second is at 12:15 p.m. and the final game for the second qualifying spot is at 2:30 p.m.
