Fossil Ridge boys soccer defeats Poudre in overtime | USA Today High School Sports

The Fossil Ridge High School boys soccer team scored in overtime to defeat Poudre in a crosstown game at French Field on Saturday.

Alex Silva put past two goals, including the game-winner, for the SaberCats.

Blair Durand and Jaime Soto added one goal each. Dominic Gibson was credited with two assists while Crey Gonzales chipped in one.

Fossil Ridge improves to 5-4-2 overall and 3-4 in Front Range League play.

Poudre falls to 4-7, 2-5 FRL.

LIBERTY COMMON 2, STERLING 0 — The Eagles won their ninth consecutive game in a shutout on the road.

Michael Hofinger scored on an assist from Rob Knab in the first half. James Keaten added a penalty-kick goal after halftime.

Liberty Common improves to 10-0-1.


WIGGINS INVITATIONAL — The Liberty Common boys finished third among 12 teams competing at the Wiggins Invitational on Saturday.

Chris Martinez was the Eagles’ top finisher, placing fourth overall in 17 minutes, 8 seconds. Nathan Dowdy also had a top-five finish at fifth in 17:11.

Liberty Common’s girls team finished ninth and was led by Sarah Earl, who placed 15th in 22:26.


CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN 3, FOSSIL RIDGE 0 — The Poudre School District field hockey team was shut out at Fossil Ridge High School.

PSD falls to 0-11and will next play on the road at Regis Jesuit at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.


FAITH CHRISTIAN 3, LIBERTY COMMON 0 — The Eagles lost in a 25-4, 25-12, 25-14 sweep on the road.

No individual statistics were reported. Liberty Common falls to 6-6 on the season.
