We have taken special measures to further strengthen coverage during the anti-polio drive
RAWALPINDI: A five-day polio immunisation drive will begin on October 14 (Wednesday) and continue till October 18 in the city. DCO Sajid Zafar Dal on Sunday said all available resources are being utilised to eradicate polio. During the drive, over 132,762 children below the age of five will be immunised against the disease with 447 polio teams constituted to administer the crucial drops. “We have taken special measures to further strengthen coverage during the anti-polio drive,” he said, adding that senior staff of the district health department will be deputed to monitor activities during the campaign. Special counters will be established at public parks, railway stations, bus stands, wagon stands, airport and other transit points to administer anti-polio drops to children.
