Offensive tackle E.J. Price received his invitation to attend the Under Armour All-America Game two years ago.
He officially received his honorary jersey Friday when the Selection Tour presented by American Family Insurance came to Archer High in Lawrenceville, Ga., to honor Price and wide receiver Kyle Davis.
“It’s an amazing honor,” Price said. “I was actually offered to attend the game as a sophomore and at the time, I had a teammate — Adonis Thomas, who is now at Alabama — so when I was offered, it was an extreme honor to me and a blessing. I’m just honored to be considered one of the top guys in the country and to be able to participate in the game.”
Price is ranked as the No. 4 tackle in the class and the 50th player overall in the ESPN 300. He had been a Georgia commit but decommitted in June. While the Bulldogs remain the favorite, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, USC and Oklahoma are among the considerations for official visits.
He is planning to announce his decision at the Under Armour game Jan. 2 in Orlando.
Davis, the No. 1-ranked wide receiver and No. 31 overall in the ESPN 300, has been a multifaceted weapon for Archer, which began the season in the Preseason Super 25.
“It’s always a great blessing to receive such a highly respected accolade,” Davis said. “Ever since I was little I would watch the games on TV every year and see all the top players in the nation compete against the best of the best. It’s just amazing to know that some kid like me will be doing the same.”
In terms of a college choice, he is down to Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee and plans to make his announcement on Oct. 23.
Davis presented his Dream Champion award to Zina Davis. Price’s Dream Champion award went to Schenik Allen.
