CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Hough Huskies earned what many consider the biggest win in school history Friday night, upsetting Mallard Creek on the road 31-28 in overtime.
Future Tennessee Volunteer Marquill Osborne stepped up at the game’s biggest moment, intercepting James Smith to seal the Huskies’ victory. Last season, Hough had the Mavericks against the ropes 30-0 before a furious rally gave Mallard Creek another Mecka win. It was the first loss in conference for the Mavs since the 2008 season, the Mallard Creek finished 1-10.
Miles Aldridge’s Huskies have put themselves in the driver’s seat in the Mecka, but a tough test in A.L. Brown awaits the Huskies next week.
