CONCORD, N.C. — It wasn’t easy for Glen Padgett’s Concord team Friday.
The Spiders turned the ball over six times, five of which were interceptions, in an ugly 23-9 victory over Cox Mill. The Spiders improved to 6-1 overall, 5-0 in conference play after a season-opening loss against A.L. Brown.
Leading 16-9 in the final minute, Concord’s defensed used a Cox Mill turnover to seal the game. Amier Young returned a Chargers fumble 85 yards to the house to put the game on ice.
The Spiders host Carson next week. Cox Mill visits Jay M. Robinson with both teams battling for their postseason lives.
