WEAVERVILLE – Talk about contrasts.

Light or non-existent contact has been the rule all this week at North Buncombe football practice. The Black Hawks (3-4, 2-0) are still recuperating from a weather-delayed 32-21 win at McDowell on Monday.

Meanwhile, Roberson is the only Mountain Athletic Conference team coming off an open date. The Rams (2-4, 1-0) could afford to watch everyone else scurry around Friday and into Monday tying to get their games in due to rainfall caused by Hurricane Joaquin.

Now it comes time for someone to suffer their first MAC loss.

Kickoff between North Buncombe and Roberson is set for 7:30 p.m. in Weaverville.

“It’s been a challenge,” Black Hawks coach Curtis Cagle said of playing two games in five days.

“You have to give your players rest and time to recover. We’ve modified a lot of the things that we do, and the kids have responded.”

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.

Pick: North Buncombe by 3.
