SWANNANOA — College softball recruits in Western North Carolina are only getting younger.
It makes sense that a pitcher who registered 201 strikeouts as a freshman is continuing the trend.
Owen’s Jaiden Tweed committed to Presbyterian earlier this week, making her the third WNC underclassmen in two years to accept a Division I scholarship. The players are not eligible to sign their national letter-of-intent until November of their senior year.
“(Recruiting) is a little scary but it’s a relief at the same time to know that this is taken care of,” Tweed said.
“I know I have a place to go and I feel really good about my choice. It’s already a great program, and I think that (coach Britne Stubbs) is going to make it amazing by the time I get there.”
