Info min says it does not matter to PML-N how ballots get delivered.
LAHORE: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has expressed confidence that in the battle between Metro bus commuters and those riding Pajeros in the NA-122 by-polls, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will emerge triumphant.
“The real contest in NA-122 is between Metro bus commuters of PML-N and Pajero riders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as millions of bus commuters will beat the dozens of Pajeros,” he told the media in Lahore on Tuesday.
“Metro bus has provided expedient transport facility to the mothers, daughters and sons of Lahore who had to commute in overcrowded vans,” he said.
Rashid claimed that PTI chairman Imran Khan had no achievements to show in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa which could win over voters in NA-122. To a question about K-P Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak’s campaign in NA-122, Rashid said Khattak should have brought along pictures of Peshawar in order to compare contrasting standards of cleanliness, and beauty in the two cities.
Asked what the party would do if the PML-N had any reservations about the outcome of NA-122 by-polls, Rashid said they would adopt the legal route. “Whether the ballot papers are provided under the supervision of the military, in armoured vehicles or through F-16s, it does not matter to the PML-N,” he added.
Rashid reminded how Imran had consistently lost in the constituency from 1997 through to 2013.
