Volleyball: Upsets cause a case of the Mondays | USA Today High School Sports

Well, I think this was my worst night of predictions with all the wild matches out there. Most notably, Scarsdale suffered its first loss Monday to Ursuline. Here’s my game story from the match. Here are the rest of the results from an exciting Monday night:

Clarkstown North 3, Albertus Magnus 0: Kelly Chaney had 14 kills in a 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 win over the Falcons. Carli Solicito and Madison Borenkoff added 22 assists and 14 kills, respectively.

Panas 3, Beacon 0: Yvette Burcescu had 19 kills in a 25-21, 25-18, 25-11 win over the Bulldogs. Sabrina Patriciello added four aces and 19 digs. Julianna Bottarini added five aces. Melissa Lussier added four kills and two blocks.

Westlake 3, Rye Neck 0: Kelly Martin had 11 kills and three blocks in a 25-11, 25-16, 25-15 win over the Panthers. Caleigh Carr added 13 assists and 10 digs.

Mamaroneck 3, Mount Vernon 0: Maddie Sach had seven kills, five blocks and 15 digs in a 25-14, 25-14, 25-17 win over the Knights. Alexia Nachtigal had 25 assists in the loss.

North Salem 3, Roosevelt 0: Lauren Smith had seven kills, three aces and 13 digs in a 25-14, 25-20, 25-8 win over the Indians. Simone Schnarwiler added six kills and four aces.

Ossining 3, John Jay-East Fishkill 1: Mychael Vernon had 22 kills and 24 digs in a 25-22, 24-26, 25-14, 27-25 win over the Patriots. Nadia Lau added 40 digs.

Eastchester 3, Port Chester 0: Skylar Reilly had four aces and nine kills in a 25-9, 25-10, 25-15 win over the Panthers. Alessia Moccia added four aces and six kills. Karly DiSanto chipped in four aces.

Lourdes 3, Carmel 1: Claudia Maslosz had 11 kills and five blocks in a 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 25-23 loss to the Warriors. Taylor Cirillo added 17 digs.

Nanuet 3, North Rockland 0: Rebecca Becourtney had 16 kills and 18 digs in a 25-19, 26-24, 25-21 win over the Red Raiders. Shannon Thomas had six kills and seven digs in the loss.

Haldane 3, Ketcham 0: Maisy Curto had five aces in one set of a 25-5, 25-8, 25-14 win over the Indians. Nicole Etta added eight aces. Brooke Vahos chipped in 10 kills.

New Rochelle 3, White Plains 2: Rachel Darius had 16 kills and nine digs in a 28-26, 17-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-13 win over the Tigers. Kelly To and Maddie Smith added 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Juliet Lodes and Janine Fernandez paced White Plains with 21 kills and 32 assists, respectively.

Harrison 3, Pelham 1: Val Sprovieri had 24 kills and 15 digs in a 25-23, 20-25, 27-25, 25-23 win over the Pelicans. Melissa Yanez added 36 assists and five digs.

Saunders 3, Tuckahoe 2: Amanda Kiriakos had eight aces and 10 kills in a 22-25, 25-14, 26-28, 25-18, 25-15 win over the Tigers. Besjona Metaliaj added five aces and five assists.

Pearl River 3, Riverside 0: Nicole Portington had six kills and four aces in a 25-12, 25-15, 25-21 win.

Keio 3, Dobbs Ferry 1: Tanako Hasegawa had 19 service points in a 25-15, 25-19, 8-25, 25-21 win over the Eagles. Alexis Demitrovic had 20 kills, 18 assists and 11 digs in the loss.

East Ramapo 3, Gorton 0: Gesnide Pierre had seven kills and six aces in the sweep. Tia White added seven kills.

Tonight’s my night to shine. In case you missed the announcement, I’ll be playing in a local celebrity basketball game tonight at the County Center. The game starts at 6 p.m., and is part of the Westchester Knicks’ open house. The event is free and starts at 5 p.m., so come out and support!
