The Red Raiders are coming … the Red Raiders are coming.
OK, maybe that’s a bit much, but it does bear watching heading forward, if for no other reason than the fact that Texas Tech just landed the top offensive lineman in the Class of 2017. Hear that? It’s the sound of Kliff Kingsbury gettinghis mojo back. And in a hurry.
Jack Anderson, a junior offensive guard at Frisco in suburban Dallas, committed to Texas Tech ahead of scholarship offers from every other member of the Big XII, a handful of SEC and ACC schools and just about any other college coach with a pulse. Anderson announced his decision on Twitter,
Anderson was almost immediately deluged with congratulatory Tweets, as one might expect. One might also expect that many of those fans couldn’t believe their team’s luck once Anderson announced he would play in Lubbock, with enough “guns up” emoji combinations to choke a horse. Or perhaps shoot one in emoji land.
Or course, Anderson can’t win on his own, but he can help make a good young quarterback look even better. With a quarterback guru like Kingsbury calling the plays, the future is suddenly starting to look mighty bright in Lubbock.
