1. Navarre Raiders 6-0

Skinny: The Navarre Raiders have held the top spot for consecutive weeks after opening up District 2-6A with an explosive win over Pace. The Raiders will be tested this week, as the Escambia Gators come to town for a rematch of last year’s Region 1-6A Quarterfinal.

2 . Tate 4-1

Skinny: The Aggies rebounded from their first loss of the season and pulled it together to start their District 1-6A season with a victory over Washington. This week, Tate coach Jay Lindsey will lead the Aggies into Pace for a father vs. son coaching duel as coach Mickey Lindsey and the Patriots play host.

Next: Friday at Pace.

3 . Pine Forest 5-1

Skinny: The Eagles shut out Escambia in the second half of Friday’s win in what was likely the most pivotal game in the area this season. With Pine Forest’s only loss coming after a field goal in the closing seconds against Choctaw, it looks like the Eagles have every intent of continuing to soar up the poll.

4 Escambia 4-2

Skinny: The Gators fell short in their first District 1-6A test of the season, but the Gators also have played the toughest schedule thus far. Once again, it will only get tougher this week as Escambia travels to face the No. 1 team in the poll.

5. Pensacola High 3-3

Skinny: The Tigers seemed overpowered at the line of scrimmage as PHS was unable to stop Bay’s rushing attack last week. This loss won’t hurt PHS too badly, as Bay is ranked No. 9 in Class 5A in Florida.

6. West Florida Jaguars 2-3

Skinny: The Jaguars had their bye week last week, which seemed to come at an opportune time for an injury-riddled team. Despite being on their third QB of the season, the Jags’ seem to find a way to be competitive every Friday night.

7. Gulf Breeze Dolphins 2-4

Skinny: The Dolphins made the biggest jump of the week after spoiling District 2-6A opponent Milton’s homecoming with a 48-26 win. With a new sense of optimism about their district season, the Dolphins will hit the road this week and hope to make it two straight.

8. Milton Panthers 4-2

Skinny: After a 4-0 start, it has been a rough two weeks for the Panthers. The Panthers will need to bring more physicality with them this week to Crestview if they want to get back on track.

9. Catholic Crusaders 2-4

Skinny: The Catholic Crusaders have carried a strong mentality and focus towards district play despite facing higher classification teams early in the season. It paid off last Friday as the Smiley brothers cashed in for explosive touchdowns and Catholic won its first District 1-3A game of the year.

10. Pace Patriots 2-4

Skinny: The Patriots drop two spots after taking a District 2-6A loss at Navarre. This week, the Patriots will host No. 2 Tate which could turn into a match loaded with rushing yards.

11. Washington Wildcats 0-6

Skinny: The Wildcats got out to a quick lead and competed with Tate, but were unable to grab their first win of the season. Washington will take this Friday off and prepare for Pine Forest in Week 8.

12. Northview Chiefs 1-4

Skinny: The Chiefs were shut out by a tough Maplesville (Ala.) team last week. The Chiefs will look to rally in front of the home crowd this Friday when Liberty County comes to town.

13. Jay Royals 0-6

Skinny: Jay will host the Cottondale Hornets, who are on a two-game win streak. Jay got the better of the Hornets last season, but can they pull it off this Friday?
