The famed novelist says Hollywood is ‘manipulated’.

Did you know that among the millions of King Khan fans is renowned author Paulo Coelho?

Author of The Alchemist took to Twitter to shower praise on Shah Rukh Khan’s work, calling My Name is Khan the best film he has watched thus far:

Karan Johar was ‘honoured’ by the amazing response, to which Coelho expressed a desire to watch more of the duo’s films:

To which SRK was quick to respond:

The actor kept his promise and sent DVDs of a few of his iconic films including Chak De India, Swades, Asoka, Ra.One, Don and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna among many others.

Paulo was deeply touched by SRK’s gesture and tweeted a picture of the gift, overwhelmed by which to watch first:

SRK asked his followers to help out the author:

Paulo also praised the Bollywood megastar on Facebook stating that he deserves an Oscar:


Apart from the honour of being acknowledged by one of the world’s most celebrated authors, SRK can now add another feather to his cap.

The actor is set to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh. He previously received an honorary doctorate degree in arts and culture from Britain’s University of Bedfordshire in 2009, reports Pinkvilla.

SRK will deliver a lecture at the former university on October 15:
