Morehead State has picked up commitments from a pair of local basketball standouts in the 2016 class the past two days.
Lawrence North’s Djimon Henson, an Indiana Junior All-Star last season at Warren Central, committed to Morehead State on Sunday. Cathedral’s Jordan Walker committed to the Ohio Valley Conference program on Monday.
It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that Morehead State is getting involved locally in recruiting. Morehead State is coached by Sean Woods, a 1988 Cathedral graduate who went on to start at point guard on Kentucky’s 1992 regional final team.
Henson and Walker are both guards, though Henson has mostly played at shooting guard and Walker at point guard. Henson also had offers from IUPUI, Northern Kentucky and Western Illinois. Walker had offers from Austin Peay, Cornell, IUPUI and South Alabama.
Morehead State was 17-17 last season and 10-6 in conference play.
