Here are our five American Family Insurance ALL-USA Ozarks Performers of the Week for the week of Sept. 21-26.
Jones rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries, added a 55-yard touchdown reception on a pass from Riley Watkins, and Republic beat Willard 49-35 on the road. Jones’ senior year rushing total jumps to 101 carries for 887 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.
Yeargan and Jones waged a running back’s duel that ended with Yeargan scoring three touchdowns and gaining 249 yards on 31 carries. Yeargan overcame a slow start and willed Willard back into the Friday night game after falling behind 21-0 in the first half.
Clem scored two goals and passed for an assist in a 4-2 win over Willard in a match where offense came at a premium rate. Nixa’s leading man helped the Eagles improve to 12-1 on the season and 5-0 in the Central Ozark Conference Large Division.
Greenlee tallied six serving aces and five blocks and Marshfield beat Buffalo in three sets by a score of 25-22, 24-26, 25-19 Thursday night. In a straight sets win over Reeds Spring on Tuesday, Greenlee led Marshfield with seven kills.
In the Sept. 29 duals at Foster Natatorium, Brinck’s time of 24.21 seconds was fast enough to win the 50-yard freestyle race. Brinck also swam on Nixa’s first place-winning 400-yard freestyle relay team and on Nixa’s 200-yard medley relay team that finished second to Kickapoo.
