Last week the BWAC had four teams earning AP Poll votes, but this week there’s only two teams getting the love.
Algonac, despite beating previously No. 5-ranked Croswell-Lexington last Friday, are still outside the top ten. The Muskrats (6-0 overall) received one point in Division 5 voting, tying for 11th place with Flint Powers (4-2).
Almont (6-0) is the other BWAC team that picked up AP votes, coming at No. 6 in Division 5. Cros-Lex (4-2) is just outside the top ten with three points, tying Marysville (4-2) in the No. 11 spot.
Sandusky (6-0) has also jumped up from its No. 13 ranking in Division 7, grabbing three points to earn the No. 11 rank.
Deckerville (5-1) dropped out of the 8-man football top five with their 34-30 loss to Morrice.
A few area teams have ranked opponents coming up on Friday. Port Huron (2-4) will be facing Division 1’s No. 3-ranked team in Romeo (6-0), who just knocked off previously ranked No. 7 Dakota.
Marysville will also have a tough test this Friday as they welcome in Sterling Heights (5-1), who is ranked No. 10 in Division 2.
