It’s time to vote for the high school athlete of the week. Included in this week’s vote are boys and girls golf, boys and girls bowling, volleyball, swimming, cross country and football.

Here are the five nominees:
Sophie Liu, Viera girls golf
Liu shot a 32 last week in a nine-hole round at Baytree National. She led the Viera Hawks to their best nine-hole round, 138, 6-under par. Liu is a senior who will attend Iowa on a golf scholarship.
Steven Cross, Merritt Island boys cross country
Cross, a senior, won the elite boys race at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee on Saturday. He completed the 5,000-meter race in 15 minutes, 21.1 seconds. Cross was the 2014 FLORIDA TODAY Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.
Eduard Meighan, Edgewood boys bowling
Meighan bowled a 276 on Tuesday in an Indians match against Rockledge at Merritt Island Shore Lanes. Meighan’s season average is 212.89.

Josh Gaines, Heritage football
Gaines made history on the Heritage field on Friday. He rushed for 172 yards, but the highlight was passing 4,000 yards for his career, making him the first Panthers back to do so.
Sam Bitner, Titusville volleyball
In two matches last week, Bitner make a combined 40 kills. She had 22 kills and three blocks in a win over Cocoa on Tuesday, and she added 18 kills in a win over Cocoa Beach on Thursday.
