We’re only reaching the mid-point of the football season now, but the race for rushing touchdown of the season might as well be over. Give the crown to Wisconsin running back Brandon Thull. He’s earned it.
Thull, a senior at Kewaskum High, ripped off a jaw-dropping 49-yard run during his Kewaskum squad’s 21-6 victory against Berlin in which he weaved in more dekes and full 360-degree spins — three — than many players will use in a game, if not a season. He magically eluded three or four seemingly sure-fire tackles and eventually got the blocks he needed while cutting back across field to the left en route to the end zone.
It was a mesmerizing run form a remarkable young athlete who has yet to receive the kind of recruiting attention you might expect of someone with those gifts. We’ll see if that begins to change as more and more of America gets to see that run.
