Owen sophomore outfielder/pitcher Jaiden Tweed has committed to play college softball for Presbyterian.
Tweed was an All-Western Highlands Conference selection as a freshman who had a 1.57 earned-run average and 201 strikeouts in 102 innings pitched for the Warlassies (9-7-1). Opponents batted .140 against Tweed.
At the plate, she hit .365 with 16 RBIs, 20 runs scored, 13 steals, six doubles and a home run. Tweed was selected to the N.C. Softball Coaches Association 2-A all-state and all-district teams.
Tweed has been playing travel ball as of late for the Lady Lightning Prospects (S.C.) organization which is based out of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
