Chef of the Week
In sports the term “cookin” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.
This week’s “Chef of the Week” award goes to Sachse (Sachse, Texas) quarterback Jalen Mayden for his 545 passing yards in a recent win over Robert E. Lee (Tyler, Texas).
Mayden completed 29 of 34 passes and six touchdowns and rushed 12 times for 73 yards and one touchdown.
Dominance, the mark of a true chef.

This week’s “Smackdown of the Week” winner is Fair Grove (Fair Grove, Mo.) linebacker Joe Caudle for delivering the big hit in a recent game.
Caudle barreled into the opposing player, wrapped up and hit him with such force that he seemed to drive him into the ground.

Oh No They Didn’t!
This award is reserved for the player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.
This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) wide receiver Kristian Gilbert for his ankle-breaking cutback after the catch in route to scoring a touchdown.
Gilbert caught the pass and took off up the right sideline; when a defender converged on him, Gilbert quickly cut back inside, which dropped the defender immediately.
