If the news wasn’t already bad enough in Coral Gables for the Miami Hurricanes and coach Al Golden, a third in-state Miami commit has flipped to the University of Florida.
On the heels of the Gators’ upset of Ole Miss on Saturday night, Pahokee (Fla.) athlete McArthur Burnett announced his commitment to the Gators, according to The Orlando Sentinel. Burnett had decommitted in June. Cocoa cornerback Chauncey Gardner, an Under Armour All-American, and Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer wide receiver Isaiah Johnson have already flipped from Miami to Florida.
Burnett, who is Pahokee’s star running back and also plays corner, is expected to play cornerback at Florida, joining an already crowded class of cornerback recruits. He is the sixth CB of 21 committed players in the Gators’ Class for 2016. Some of them likely will switch to offense.
Burnett is ranked as the No. 11 all-purpose back in the nation by the 247Sports Composite.
