Keats Calhoon of Tulsa Victory Christian became the second quarterback from Oklahoma to eclipse 10,000 passing yards for his career in the last two weeks.
Calhoon threw for three touchdowns and ran for one in a 48-18 victory against Checotah on Friday. Calhoon entered the season with 9,334 yards and posted 568 yards and six TDs in his first two games of the season. Victory Christian’s game last week was canceled. Calhoon now has 83 career touchdown passes.
Mason Fine of Locust Grove passed 10,000 last week after entering the season with 9,493 yards. He isn’t letting up, either. Fine threw for 409 yards and seven touchdowns Friday night in a 68-6 victory against Dewey.
This season, both have already passed Paul Smith (Owasso), who was No. 2 in state history with 9,574 yards. The state record belongs to L.T. Pfaff with 11,357 yards.
