Ty Pigrome threw two touchdown passes and ran for a touchdown, all in the first half, to lead No. 8 Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, Ala.) to a 56-0 defeat of Center Point (Birmingham) on Friday. Pigrome, a 5-11 senior, has eight offers from BCS schools, including an offer last week from Indiana. He’s accounted for 20 touchdowns this season (14 passing and six rushing).

Xavier Mayes gave the Cougars (6-0) the lead for good when he ran it in from the 3-yard line with 8:15 left in the first quarter. After A.J. Walker scored on a 35-yard run, Pigrome found Dez Williams for a 9-yard touchdown pass. A little more than a minute later, Pigrome scored from 32 yards out and Clay-Chalkville led 28-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Nick Jones ran it in from the 1-yard line early in the second quarter and two minutes later, Pigrome found T.J. Johnson for a 5-yard touchdown pass and the route was on. Toney Gurley ran in a 1-yarder a few minutes before halftime. The lone score in the second half was a 9-yard touchdown pass from Darryien Wilson to Marquis Drake.
