Jaquon Futrell ran for 296 yards in the first half and recorded five touchdowns to lead the host Dover High School football team in a 60-0 win over Ellenville on Friday.
“On the first play of the third quarter, (Futrell) ran for 79 yards but it was called back because he hurdled a player,” said Dover coach Chris Lounsbury. “I guess that’s illegal,” he added.
Angus Edmondson had two catches, a 16-yard touchdown reception and recovered three fumbles.
“Overall, the offensive line played really well for us … we’re starting to get a little healthier, and the younger kids are gaining experience. We’re starting to understand our roles and play as a team.”
“(Friday) the kids executed very well,” said Lounsbury.
