Doug Gaymon ran for two touchdowns to pace Estero (1-5, 1-0) to its first victory on the season, beating East Lee County 39-13 Friday night.
East Lee (1-3, 0-1) struck first on a Cortavius Lee 29-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, but RJ McLean’s 16-yard touchdown run and Gaymon’s 1-yard score in the second quarter put Estero up 13-7 at halftime.
Alec Eschenwald, Neal and Jeremy Barrett would all find the end zone along with Gaymon’s second score of the game in the second half, to give head coach Jeff Hanlon his first victory as Wildcats head coach.
“This past week has been our best week of practice all season long along the offensive line and they worked their tails off tonight. Our guys deserved a victory tonight I’m just really happy for them.” Hanlon said.
